These eco-friendly villas with mud-colored exterior walls, terracotta flooring, timber ceilings and clay-tiled roofs blend beautifully into landscaped gardens. Interiors are spacious and decorated with local fabrics and antiques. Rise to the sound of birdcall, relax with a good book on your own private verandah, cool off in the swimming pool or have a rejuvenating massage at the Ayurveda center while the chef prepares lunch in your villa. Tisara Villas is owned by a grandson of the late Martin Wickramasinghe, one of Sri Lanka’s best-loved authors and folk heroes who hail from the village of Koggala.
